    A cigarette-type smoking article has a short tobacco-containing fuel element (8), a passageway (16) for mainstream tobacco smoke flow, a flavor source (12) which provides enhanced flavor to the tobacco smoke which passes therethrough, and a mouth end piece (20). The article is highly air diluted and the air dilution is provided through the periphery of the article as perforations (26) in a region immediately behind the fuel element. Such an article delivers highly flavored mainstream tobacco smoke and relatively low levels of pyrolysis and/or combustion derived wet total particulate matter.

    Claims (8)

    Claim
    1. A smoking article, such as a cigarette, having a fuel element at one end and a mouthpiece at the other end and a separate aroma source located between them at a distance from the fuel element, capable of receiving a stream of smoke from the fuel element to come into contact with, and thereby increase smoke aroma, characterized in that, in order to ensure a high degree of aromatization and a low content of particles that are products of pyrolysis and / or combustion, the fuel cell contains tobacco for the formation of tobacco during its combustion smoke and has a length of 25-40 mm, the length of the aroma source is 15-40 mm, between the fuel element and the aroma source, a channel 4-40 mm long is formed for the passage of tobacco smoke from the fuel element to the aroma source, while the product is equipped with a dilution means tobacco smoke with air, which allows air to penetrate into the product through its outer surface, and located in an area spaced along the length of both the fuel cell and the source of aroma.

    6. The product according to claim 1, characterized in that the fuel cell is enclosed in two or more layers of the wrapper, and the tobacco contained therein is presented in the form of particles. ’

    7. The product according to claim 1, characterized in that the circumference of the fuel cell is 19-28 mm

    8. The product according to claim 7, characterized in that the fuel cell has a linear burning rate with puffs 1-
    3 mm per puff and burning rate with self-smoldering 2-5 mm per burning interval when smoking the product.
